Every day the staff at Bishop's Cellar come across news posts, interesting facts, and random wine information on the web, in the news, etc. We all want to share this info with you, yet most of these items don't fit specific sections of our wesite. For instance, where would you post an interesting news story about baboons sabotaging the grape harvests in South Africa? This section truly will be a "free run" of random information, pictures, recipes, news posts, etc. Essentially anything we find useful or entertaining, we'll post it! This will be a fun section, so stop back frequently to see what's new!

Croft Pink

New to this market, Croft's Pink Port is the perfect summer time sipper. Fantastic on it's own, or great mixed with juices and sodas, Croft Pink Port is the only Pink Port available in the world. Take a moment and see what Gillian of WhiskyAce.com has concocted for this month's feature cocktail.

Wine Tasting 101

With the abundance of in-store tastings taking place at Bishop’s Cellar, many attendees have requested some basic info on wine tasting and etiquette. We certainly have our own style of tasting so we’ve taken the tasting basics and tailored them to our particular environment. Enjoy and please feel free to send any questions to info@bishopcellar.com.

Please click here to view our "how to" guide for wine tastings at the store.

Loire Valley Crash Course

Fresh off a trip to the Loire Valley, the team was anxious to share the vast amount of information they learned during their travels. As the Loire is over 400km long, the team only had time to visit Vouvray, Saint Nicolas de Bourgeuil and Chinon. Click on the picture to the right to discover more about the famous Chenin Blancs of Vouvray and the Cabernet Franc of Saint Nicolas de Bourgeuil.

Happy 7th Birthday

In the spirit of our Birthday week, we've been digging through old photo albums and stumbled across some great staff photos. Click on the photo to the left for a tour down memory lane with Bishop's Cellar!

Amarone & Ripasso

With next week's attention focusing around the visit of Alberto Zenato, the wine dinner at Amano and our Bella Italia tasting, we thought it would useful to post a crash course on the ancient appassimento wine making method. This process is used to produce the famous Italian Ripasso's and Amarone's that many of us love. Simply click the photo on the right for a guided tour!
